Yesterday, I got a piece of mail that was so wonderful on the outside, I forgot to actually open it! Seriously, I showed it off to my DH, took photos of it, laid it where I would admire and study it from time to time, and it was evening when I realized it was still unopened!
Isn't it wonderful?

You know what I'm a tad concerned about? I think I'm supposed to send my own mail art to this artist. eeek. Well, my salvation is that I can't draw like that, and I know it, so mine will be completely different as to medium. Rescued by apples and oranges, maybe?
First, thank you for your wonderful comment on my post. It is good to remember that when we do not get what we "want" there is often a good reason for it!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for participating in the link party:)Loved the bag.
And what a great piece of mail art. I cracked up at the piece on the back--what a great sense of humor!
Thanks again, Ani.
Wow! How amazing is that?!! Bet the postman had a good time delivering it since it's so much more interesting to look at than your plain, run-of-the-mill window envelope! ; )
ReplyDeleteWell I'm back! I was going to do an email reply but that didn't work! I wanted to thank you for, and respond to, your comment on my blog about the Bradford Pear tree. No, they don't have fruit, at least not edible fruit. They do produce a small round pear that the birds like! Ours was pretty much a "single tree" and didn't have too many pear babies!
ReplyDeleteLucky you to have grown up with real fruit trees! I've never even seen a real apple tree!
LoVed the Mail Art EnveLope! I mailed the 2 i deSigned SaturDay! I joined Swap-Bot a couple of months ago & really enJOY it! Your ATCs are fanTasTic [loved the apple ones] Can't wait to see what you come up with in the fuTure. BTW/ coFFeePot PeopLe are *U*nique!
ReplyDeletethat's real cool! I didn't know something like that would go through all the mail readers and such. If they have electonic readers... everything else seems to be. No return address? {:-D
ReplyDeleteIt is Awesome, isn't it? I'm mailing the ones I'm making tomorrow--haven't finished them yet, but they involve fabric, appliques.....Have to be careful, though, and not test the limits of USPS too much, lol!
ReplyDeleteI used Photoshop to smear out Thom's return address and my street number. It didn't seem right to leave them showing, but Thom would've gotten his piece back if the postal service had rejected it. Wouldn't that be awful, though? To send something that took that much time and effort, and have it lost. Don't even want to think about that.
Fun piece Anitra. Still on furlough in the states 'til May 30. You asked about my journal pages. I do some writing on them, but since art journaling is still relatively new to me, that is an area I've yet to deveop further. I just have so much fun with the artsy part I usually leave little room for the writing part. Try an art journal, you'll like it.
