DECAYDENCE: CALLA LILIES

Once in a while I notice how closely related the words "decadence" and "decay" are. Yesterday, walking past the bed where the calla lilies are almost finished with their blooming was one of those times.

Sometimes decay is almost as lovely, and nearly almost more interesting, than the first blush of beauty.

I took some time to explore their forms:

    I was in a wedding over Memorial weekend and calla lilies were the wedding flower...they are so pretty :)

  5. close up of flowers are so amazing! When we were at Huntington Library & Gardens in LA, we looked under the microscope at flowers, looking at their sex organs! It's beautiful! Hope they weren't embarrassed...
